Tempranillo from Alto Najerilla, located at an average altitude of 600 meters. The grapes come from old vineyards (over 80 years old) in Badarán and Cárdenas. The influence of the Atlantic Ocean in this climate, with cold winters, warm summers, and long mild autumns, results in slow grape ripening. The soil, mainly clay-limestone and clay-ferrous, has a balanced composition, slightly alkaline, rich in organic matter, with modest water availability during the summer months.
The grapes are harvested manually in October, destemmed by 75%, and fermented at a controlled temperature of 25-28 ºC. Long maceration and light pressing in a basket press. Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels.
