WINEMAKER TRUS

TRUS is an acronym of the 4 words; Tierra (Earth)- Roble (Oak)- Uva (Grape) –Sol (Sun), everything you need to produce a wine.

To produce a unique product of the highest quality: a wine and a brand, to satisfy the most demanding palates is the aim and the philosophy of Juan Manuel Rodriguez and Javier Palacios, and hence of ‘Bodegas TRUS’. A company born in 1999, fruit of the ambitions of two families. The founders chose the location for the vineyard in a privileged area of the Ribera del Duero, called ‘Pinel de Abajo’. An area some 790 metres above sea level, characterized by gentle sloping terrain and a south-westerly orientation. The cool breeze that descends from the high plateau into the valley in the morning and the warm current that rises from it the evening, permit an optimum ripening of the fruit between August and September.

Only one variety of grape is cultivated, Tinto Fino, also known as Tempranillo. To achieve the maximum quality, ‘Bodegas TRUS’ considers treatment of the vine and adherence to the laws of nature that control its growth, essential. For this reason the 80 hectares that make up the estate, are not irrigated by drip-feed, therefore, levels of production are kept low and quality kept high.
