While maintaining high rates of production, this winery proposes extremely good wines that are an excellent value for money. Ever since 1983, when Principe de Viana, named in honor of the first potentate of Navarra, opened its doors in Murchante, the company has followed a path of stunning success and in just 25 years became one of the principal and most prestigious wineries in Navarra.
Constant research and development resulted in such highlights as Navarra’s first Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé and most recently a Late Harvest Chardonnay. Both wines not only impressed the renowned wine critics but also got a huge feedback from the customers.
The vineyards are situated in the historically privileged area of the Ribera Baja of Navarra. Gape varieties Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Viura (also known as Macabeo) and Chardonnay make up a total planting of 1.400 hectares.
Viticultural management employs the most advanced technology aiming for ideal vineyard development. Planting is controlled by GPS as well as by laser marking, while vines are monitored by computers tracking humidity levels and temperature as well as recollecting daily plant growth data.
Modern sustainable methods with the respect for the natural surroundings are exercised, which prevents soil movement or water course modification. Thus allows to achieve grapes of the utmost high quality - later they arrive at the impressively large and modern winery and are made into really spectacular wines.
