VITICULTURE
The LOPEZ CRISTOBAL family founded this winery in the eighties, almost at the same time that Ribera del Duero obtained its Designation of Origin. It has 50 Ha. of its own vineyards in the municipality of Roa de Duero, divided into 9 plots with different compositions. They are the guarantee for regularity and unique personality. The predominant variety is "Tinta del país" or better known as "Tempranillo" (48 Ha.), complemented by 2 Ha. where the varieties "Merlot" and "Albillo" are combined
WINEMAKING
After harvesting, always by hand and in crates, the grapes from the winery's vineyards pass through a selection table where grapes that do not reach sufficient quality are rejected. This selection work is carried out exclusively by family members. The wine ferments at 28º degrees and matures for 14 months in new Oak barrels, 80% French and 20% American oak. Subsequently, the wine is bottled and remains at least 18 months in a climate-controlled warehouse until it is released to the market.
