Garnacha and Tempranillo from Alto Najerilla, cultivated at 600 meters altitude. They come from vineyards aged between 35 and 50 years old. The influence of the Atlantic Ocean in this climate, with cold winters, warm summers, and long, mild autumns, results in slow grape ripening. The soil, mostly clay-limestone and clay-ferrous, has a balanced composition, slightly alkaline, rich in organic matter, with modest water availability during the summer months.
The grapes are manually harvested, destemmed, and fermented at a controlled temperature of 25-28 ºC for 10 days. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for 6 months.
