100% Monastrell from 52-year-old vines at an altitude of 850m
AROMA
Intense aromas of fruits reminiscent of blackberries, plums, and cherries, combined with hints of almonds and wood.
PALATE
Complex, intense, and with a very good balance between juicy fruit and mature tannins.
VITICULTURE
The grapes come from carefully controlled and selected low-yield vineyards in Yecla, in the northern area of Campos Arriba, at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level. Their age is up to 52 years.
WINEMAKING
The grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes. The grapes undergo cold maceration for 24 hours at 4ºC before fermentation begins. The clusters are selected for destemming. Fermentation takes place in large oak barrels for 18 days, with manual punching down 2 to 4 times a day. After pressing, the free-run wine is racked into French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. It then ages for 24 months before being bottled with a light filtration applied.
