VITICULTURE
The LOPEZ CRISTOBAL family founded this winery in the eighties, almost at the same time that Ribera del Duero obtained its Designation of Origin. It has 50 Ha. of its own vineyards in the municipality of Roa de Duero, divided into 9 plots with different compositions. They are the guarantee for regularity and unique personality. The predominant variety is "Tinta del País" or better known as "Tempranillo" (48 Ha.), complemented by 2 Ha. where the varieties "Merlot" and "Albillo" are combined.
WINEMAKING
After harvesting, always by hand and in crates, the grapes from the winery's vineyards pass through a selection table where grapes that do not reach sufficient quality are rejected. This selection work is carried out exclusively by family members. The wine matures for 3 months in French Oak barrels that are between 1 and 3 years old. Once the aging period in barrels is finished, a second quality test is carried out before the final blend. Subsequently, the wine is bottled and remains at least 3 months in a climate-controlled warehouse until it is released to the market.
