The grapes come from the oldest vines on the estate. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines that are located in a historic terroir classified as 2nd Grand Cru Classé in 1855, when Napoleon III requested a classification system for the best Bordeaux wines to be presented at the Paris Universal Exhibition that same year.
TASTING NOTES
Château Pichon Baron 2020 has a beautiful dark garnet colour. The nose is fresh, precise and complex, with aromas of ripe red fruit, spice, cedar and graphite. The palate is powerful, creamy and elegant. The tannins are silky and lively. The finish is long, fruity and spicy.
