WINEMAKER Proelio

This winery, which together with Nivarius and Trus forms part of the Palacios family business, was born in 2012 on the base of three key elements: indigenous Rioja varietals, high altitudes and North-oriented vineyards.

The vineyards are located relatively high in the Rioja Alta at 650 meters above sea level, on an impressive variety of soil types and inclinations.

The plots that make up the soul of Proelio, which means "battle" in Latin, are small pieces of land that remain standing in their fight against extinction: Garnacha, Tempranillo or Graciano from old and wise vines, which produce fruit capable of building living, expressive and long-lasting wines.
