ALBRET LA VIÑA DE MI MADRE - Navarra - Spain
Hand selected by the Spanish Sommelier association as the best Navarra red, this is a seriously great wine. A Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 21 months in oak barrels. The palate is rich and vibrant with terrific layers of cassis, cocoa and spice. The mouthfeel is rich but soft and is incredibly wellbala ced. Smooth but firm on the finish. This is Navarra at its best. This wine shows well-structured tannins and will pair with game,red meats, roasts and strong ripe cheeses.
DOBLE DOCE - Ronda - Spain
Bodega Doña Felisa near Ronda has chosen to use their Cabernet Sauvignon with the Merlot Grape. The perfect combination of the spicy cabernet and the velvet Merlot, in perfect harmony and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Merlot pairs well with lighter meats such as chicken, pork, and lamb, as well as tomato-based dishes and pasta. Cabernet Sauvignon, on the other hand, pairs well with heavier meats such as beef and game, as well as strong cheeses and dark chocolate. With the 50/50 blend this wine is very versatile.
