VITICULTURE
Rioja Vega is the oldest winery in Rioja. For the production of this wine, Tempranillo Tinto grown in bush vines at 462 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soils has been used, as well as white Tempranillo planted 8 years ago in well-balanced soils.
WINEMAKING
The grapes are kept at a low temperature from the very harvest to the extraction of the must. Once in the cellars, the grapes undergo a very brief pre-fermentative cold maceration during which there is barely contact of the must with the skins. Then, the must is carefully decanted and an alcoholic fermentation of 25 days follows, at a maximum temperature of 15.5ºC.
