PALATE
This wine is very full-bodied on entry. It is powerful and fleshy, elegant and expressive while remaining subtle. Well-integrated rounded tannins make it weighty but easy to drink. Powerful and vivid, showing liquorice and bitter chocolate notes.
VITICULTURE
Old vines of over 45 years planted in low-yielding soils (4500 Kg. per hectare) with good orientation and exposure to the sun in Villabuena, Samaniego and Leza.
WINEMAKING
Grapes are carefully selected and handpicked in small boxes. Double selection table for bunches and berries. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels, followed by 20-months ageing in new casks of 50% French 50% American oak.
FOOD PAIRING
