BOUQUET
Intense and complex on the nose with ripe red and black fruit aromas (cherry, blackberry and raspberry), walnuts and menthol notes. Spicy nutmeg and clove and hints of dry forest leaves.
PALATE
Smooth on the palate, with high acidity and ripe tannins that are very well integrated with the oak. It is broad and balanced with a very long finish reminiscent of autumn. The presence of fruit stands out beyond all else.
VITICULTURE

The first vineyard in the area to be planted at 685 metres and with these characteristics. Working without herbicides and with the utmost respect for the environment enhances the presence of varietal aromas and the area's singularity. Bush vines are re-trained to trellis. The vineyard was planted in 1980 on the surface of 1.8 hectares in Samaniego. Local soils are of two types of loam, one with a higher content of reddish sand at the entrance and whiter (limestone) and with more clay in the rest.

WINEMAKING

Alcoholic fermentation in concrete eggs. Malolactic fermentation in oak barrels (50% in 500-litre barrels and 50% in 225-litre barrels) is followed by further 14-month ageing.

FOOD PAIRING
Semi-cured cheese, cured cheese, blue cheese, goat cheese, veal meat, lamb, offal, tuna, flavored stews, stews with intense flavour, meat paella rice, barbecue meat, fish, bolognese.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Recommended serving temperature: 15ºC-17ºC.
