WINEMAKER del Abad

Bodega del Abad has 35 hectares of its own vineyard between Mencía and Godello, located in the most privileged area for growing grapes in all of El Bierzo: the upper area of ​​Valtuille de Arriba and Villafranca del Bierzo. The vines are located on steep slopes with altitude and soils made up of a mixture of fine elements, quartzites and slates. From the winery, a selection is made of the best vineyards of viticulturists in the area, monitoring all the tasks that are carried out from winter pruning to harvesting. During the summer, a strict control of the ripening of the grapes is carried out, which allows defining the right moment for the harvest, when the grapes are in optimal conditions to start the vinification process.
